At the Ekana Stadium, RCB clinched a thrilling low-scoring victory. Kohli and Faf provided a solid foundation for RCB after opting to bat first, putting together a 62-run opening partnership. However, no other batsmen were able to surpass the 20-run mark as LSG used 13 overs of spin to restrict RCB’s scoring rate. The spinners claimed five wickets while conceding only 73 runs. Despite chasing a modest target of 127, LSG lost too many wickets in the powerplay, and their top order failed to capitalize. Karn Sharma was exceptional in the middle overs, dismissing key batsmen Pooran and Stoinis. Although Krishnappa Gowtham played a few big shots, he was unable to take the game to the end. By defeating LSG and settling the score, RCB avenged their loss in the previous encounter.

LSG Captain

Krunal Pandya,  Stand-in Skipper: ”  We did pretty well restricting them to a total of 126. It was a great bowling effort overall. Really happy with the way bowlers have done this year. We would have taken 126 but the batting department failed to execute plans.

RCB Captain & Player of the Match

Faf Du Plessis, Skipper: ”  A contrast of what happened at the Chinnaswamy. We played really well in the first six overs and got a steady start. To have a fifty partnership in the six overs was match-changing. It was a good toss to win and batting first was important. Playing spinners here was always going to be difficult. If you can bowl the ball in a good area, it’s pretty hard to score.  Before we went on the field, we said to the guys it’s a match-winning score and we can do it. Felt if we early wickets in the powerplay, especially with KL not being there, it’s going to be difficult. Super happy for Karn Sharma. Just one of those guys who do the hard work all the time but doesn’t get the recognition.”

Powerplay (1-6 Overs) :-

RCB- 42/0 (7.0 rpo, 3×4, 1×6)  || LSG- 34/4 (5.7 rpo, 3×4, 2×6)

Middle Overs (7-15 Overs) :-

RCB- 50/4 (5.5 rpo, 1×4, 0x6)  ||  LSG- 44/4 (4.9 rpo, 1×4, 2×6)

Death Overs (16-20 Overs) :-

RCB- 34/5 (6.8 rpo, 2×4, 1×6)  ||  LSG- 30/2 (6.0 rpo, 4×4, 0x6)
