MI successfully completed a remarkable chase at Wankhede Stadium against the challenging RR team. RR had a blistering start with Yashasvi Jaiswal dominating from the first ball, resulting in 65 runs without losing any wickets in the powerplay. Jaiswal carried on with his attack and reached his maiden IPL century in the 20th over. Piyush Chawla and Kumar Kartikeya bowled economically to keep RR’s total under control. Chasing 212 runs was not an easy task, especially after the early dismissal of the skipper. Cameron Green led the counterattack for MI, while Ishan Kishan played the supporting role in a 62-run partnership. Suryakumar Yadav then took over and displayed his striking abilities to keep MI in the game. The momentum shifted in MI’s favor in the 13th over when SKY smashed 20 runs. Sandeep Sharma took a stunning catch to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav, who was in excellent form. With 57 runs required off four overs, Tim David showed his mettle by smashing three sixes in the final over and finished unbeaten on 45 runs off 14 balls, with a strike rate of 321.

ToggleSanju Samson, Skipper: ” In the time-out the way Suryakumar Yadav was batting, we were talking about fighting back. Tim David played a special knock. It was kind of getting wet and we were taking our time to wipe the ball. We have had the experience of bowling in such conditions. The way we have been playing either we have won or we have come close. Results do come here and there. We will keep focusing on the process.”
MI Captain
Rohit Sharma, Skipper: ” Very pleasing to see how we chased the target down. The last game here also came close to the target. We have the ability to back ourselves and chase such totals down. Tim David has so much ability and power to complete games like these. Injuries keep happening, part and parcel of the game. It is difficult as a captain, but unfortunately, you have to play the conditions and the opposition. We want to be flexible as a team and guys need to be ready for it.”

Organized my life well outside of cricket. “
